Anyway, Gringo is okay. He's got a good gash in his thigh and tongue, but has since completely healed up.
When we took a look at him, his face said it all. He is one tough and courageous dog.
"You should have seen the other guy!"
It's hard to believe that this precious, cuddly and loving, little puppy....
Yes, that is a lamb he is cuddling with. |
has grown up to be our best and toughest guard dog!

I gasped when I saw gringo (my nickname, coincidentally) cuddling with the lamb. Oh goodness. One of the best pictures ever. Ever. I'm glad he's okay; what a good dog.
oh, he definitely means business. what a great dog. bless him...
You've got to be tough to tackle yotes and cougars. Keep up the good work Lasater family!
Okay, now he's officially my favorite.
Ohhh poor baby. That lamb picture is so freaking sweet I cannot handle it.
Wow! What a brave boy! We're looking to get a good farmdog...what breed is Gringo? We need one that will stick around without needing to be tied up.
he really is a great dog! Tonia, Gringo is an Akbash/Anatolian mix, but most all of our other dogs are Great Pyrenees. They both have their pros and cons. Akbash breeds tend to be a little more aggressive towards other dogs, but are easy to groom. The G Pyr are a lot of upkeep. Both are great dogs. The trick is to get them as pups and let them spend a lot of time with the animal you want them to protect. Either way...you can't really go wrong with either. Both are loving and friendly to humans.
thanks for the info!!
Precious pic of the pup and lamb!
