{a post for fellow pet lovers.}

My problem.
I love my Jigs way too much. I honestly don't think it's healthy.

She grunts and I worry she is uncomfortable.
Her tail stops wagging, I'm convinced she's depressed.
She doesn't want to cuddle and I start believing that she hates me.
She spends lots of time at her grandmother's house and I swear she doesn't like it here with us.
She doesn't eat her all her food and I think she's ill.
She yawns at me and it's official, she thinks I'm so lame.

It's ridiculous, I know.

Here is the second part to my problem.
Jigs might need surgery and this has me very worried and sad.

We take her in on Tuesday morning and if she needs surgery we'll be getting it done that same day. I know it's routine, but it makes my heart hurt.

The third part to the problem.
I don't know how we'll pay for it, but we will.

Fellow pet lovers, please tell me my pet paranoia isn't completely abnormal!

{What are your thoughts on pet insurance? Worth the investment?}

Sorry to hear about Jigs--I hope it all turns out to be nothing. We don't have pet insurance for our cats. It would've been something like $70 a month (for two cats) and I figure in a year that's almost $1000 right there, so over a few years and you've got the cost of a major surgery. Plus insurance doesn't cover everything, or even much in some situations. I'd rather just save the money now and have it to use later, should I need it.

oh no! I hope Jigs is okay. Your paranoia is totally normal. Tod11111112222222222 <-- I'm leaving that in there because Ike totally climbed on my lap and sat on the keyboard at just the right moment to make me think he was sending Jigs some well wishes.

Thanks Clare. I'm starting to think the same thing. If I am going to get a pet insurance policy I have one day to do it. I'll need to get it in place before her trip on Tuesday. :/ Decisions, decisions.

DJ - That is the cutest thing ever. Tell Ike that Jigs says, "Thanks!"

I used to be a vet tech for many years and it has absolutely RUINED me for pet ownership. If one of my dogs sneezes I can tell you 20 reasons why this might lead to their death. Believe me, I totally understand your paranoia! What is going on with Jigs?
BTW No, pet insurance is not worth it. You'd be better off making a savings account where you can decide if you spend the money or not. Pet insurance can often decide they won't pay for something and they only pay a small part when they do pay. I speak from experience.

Of course it's not abnormal! They're just as much a part of our lives as we are... I had pet insurance when I had Monty and Rosie - cost a fortune and wasn't worth it. Now I just find the dosh as I need it.

I'm the same way about Howard. People tell me all the time that I have a problem but I just can't help it. He's my baby so I totally understand what you are going through. I SOO hope Jigs won't need the prodcedure. I'll be thinking about you guys.
We have also thought about getting pet insurance but haven't yet. Let us know what you decide.

We don't have pet insurance so I have no idea but I am the same, if not worse, with our boys. I have absolutely suffered a poor night's sleep so as not to disrupt Jasper who moans/growls at me if I move too much when he is curled up against my legs...in the bed...under the covers.... :)

girl... just wait until you have a baby.
not that my passion for our doggies, Carley and Jackson diminished at all because of my obsession with Emery... It's just that my obsession with Emery is like doggie love on crack.
Jigs will be ok! Thinking happy and tail wagging thoughts.
Can't wait to meet him! Maybe he can be besties with carley and jackson!
xoxo sister!

Thank you ladies for all your comments! I didn't get the pet insurance because it wouldn't cover the work she needed done today anyway. :(
